Simply put, the project focuses on the variations and juxtapositions of light and shadows found in everyday scenes of urban life. The work is driven by contradictions in scale, exploring the way in which we inhabit and interact with space. Although the images were taken in a range of locations, over a number of years, the project attempts to weave a thread through geographically, culturally and spatially varying urban scenes. The series marks a line in the sand in an ongoing investigation, and draws connections between both undefined, negotiable, hazy environments and their sharper alternatives.
